How Can I Make Baby Come Faster?

by Kayla Davis

Question:When my due date comes and still no baby, what can I do or use to make my labor faster?

Answer:Try to remember, first of all, that due dates are just an estimate. If you don't have your baby by your due date it doesn't necessarily mean you are "overdue."

If you want to try to encourage your labor to start, you can try the suggestions on my Natural Labor Induction page.

Keep in mind that it's doubtful that natural induction methods will work if your body isn't ready to go into labor. Try to relax and not stress out about it. Your baby will come when he or she is ready.

If you are wanting to know what you can do to make your actual labor go faster once it's started, here are a few suggestions:

-Stay at home as long as possible.
-Keep mobile during labor.
-Use gravity to help your labor along. For example, squats and walking can help encourage your baby to move down.
-Don't get an epidural.

Happy Birthing!
